Rev. Dr. R. Gregory Odom

Overview

     Rev., Dr. R. Gregory Odom is a Man of God and a Gospel preacher/teacher who challenges himself to preach and teach the true, uncompromised, unadulterated, Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The fourth of five children born to the late Deacon Donnell and Deaconess Martha Odom, Dr. Odom was raised in the Baptist church and received Christ at the age of nine.  He received his calling into the Ministry at an early age however; it was not until 1993 that he accepted and acknowledged God’s call and became a Licensed Minister of the Gospel. In August of 2000, he became an ordained Minister.

Ministry Highlights:

     Dr. Odom currently serves as Senior Pastor of New Monumental Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Prior to New Monumental, he served Zion Baptist Church of Marietta, Georgia, as Executive Pastor, and Director of Christian Education & Leadership Development. He is Pastor Emeritus and founder of Trinity Christian Ministries in Mableton, Georgia, and has served the following congregations: Higher Piney Grove Baptist, Decatur, Georgia, Tabernacle Baptist, Atlanta, Georgia, and Faith Tabernacle Baptist, Atlanta, Georgia.

     Dr. Odom is a sought-after Preacher, Teacher, Clinician and Conference Facilitator and has served as Content and Doctrinal Editor for the National Baptist Convention Sunday School Publishing Board and Lifeway Publishing. He is a former Minister of Music and has traveled   nationally and internationally preaching, singing, and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Educational Highlights:

     Dr. Odom is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Bachelor of Business Administration and Pre-Law, a Graduate of Luther Rice University: Bachelor of Science in Religion; Master of Arts in Biblical Studies & Christian Education, Master of Divinity in Christian Counseling, and Doctor of Ministry. Graduate of Emory University: Clinical Pastoral Education. 

 Civic/Social Highlights:

     He is a member of: Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities, and the American Council of Christian Counselors. He serves on the Boards of several civic organizations and is Founder and President, Alpha Omega Nu Fraternity (Christian), and Founder: Boys II Mend Mentoring Counsel.

Personal Highlights:

     Dr. Odom is currently a resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is a family man and enjoys Preaching, Teaching, Singing, the Piano, Traveling, Sports, Scuba Diving, Motorcycling, and helping others through ministry.
